Ebike Locks

An ebike is a two to four thousand dollar bike that thieves know is worth stealing. What a lock actually buys you is time and tools: how long someone has to stand there working, and how much gear they have to be carrying to bother in the first place. Every lock here is built around hardened steel that fights bolt cutters.

Which lock do you need?

  • UKASE MAX U-Lock — $29.99. A dual-bolt shackle with an 11mm hardened crossbar. The most security per dollar we sell and the one we recommend most often. Buy this unless the racks you actually park at are too wide or too thick for a 9-inch shackle.
  • UKASE MAX + 4' cable — $39.99. Same lock, plus reach for both wheels or a second bike. Worth the extra $10 if you run quick-release wheels; skip it if your wheels are bolted on.
  • ChainKASE X-TREME — $49.99. A 4-foot 8mm hardened chain that reaches around odd racks, fat posts, and poles a rigid U-lock cannot. The toughest flexible option here, but it lives in a bag rather than on your frame.
  • Link Lock — $59.99. A folding lock that opens to 34 inches and packs into a case on your frame. Most of a chain's reach at 2 lbs. Buy it when a shackle will not fit and you will not carry a chain.
  • ChainKASE 7' Combination — $69.99. Seven feet of 8mm chain with a resettable 4-dial code instead of a key. Buy it to chain two or three bikes together, or to reach around something nothing shorter will clear. The longest and heaviest lock here by a wide margin.

Four of these five are keyed. The UKASE MAX and ChainKASE X-TREME use a Z-Key cylinder with BumpBlok technology that resists picking, pulling, and drilling. The ChainKASE 7' is the one combination lock in the group, which is a real convenience win and a real trade: no key to lose, but a 4-dial mechanism is not the same thing as a purpose-built anti-pick cylinder. Buy it for its length, not for its lock body. BiKASE does not publish a cylinder type or an independent security rating (Sold Secure, ART) for the Link Lock or the ChainKASE 7', so we do not assign one.
